Merian Global Investors names Dominik Issler as EMEA Distribution Head

Merian Global Investors (MGI) today announces that Dominik Issler has been promoted to head of EMEA distribution.

Merian Global Investors (MGI) today announces that Dominik Issler has been promoted to head of EMEA distribution.

In the newly created role, Dominik will take on responsibility for distribution across the EMEA markets, with a particular focus on Europe. This move reflects the business’s continued commitment to the region after launching its first European office, headed by Dominik, in Zurich in 2015. Since then, the business has steadily expanded its presence in Europe through the hiring of regional sales specialists and opening a further office in Milan. In the expanded role, Dominik will work with the regional sales heads to further drive growth and brand awareness in MGI’s chosen markets, primarily Iberia, France, Benelux, DACH, Italy and the Nordics.

In addition to the new position, he will continue to oversee distribution in the DACH regions, working alongside specialist Benjamin Huegli who joined the firm in 2017. Dominik, who will continue to be based in Zurich, will report to managing director, distribution, Warren Tonkinson and will join the business’s distribution committee with immediate effect.

Dominik joined MGI in 2015 as head of DACH distribution. He has 18 years of sales and client service experience in asset management. He joined the business from Martin Currie Investment Management where he was director and regional head based in Switzerland from 2010. Prior to Martin Currie, Dominik was CEO Switzerland for ABN AMRO Asset Management. During his career, he has also worked at Schroder Investment Management and State Street Global Advisers. He holds an MA in economics from the University of Zurich.

Dominik Issler comments:

“Over the last few years our presence in Europe has grown significantly, driven by our reputation as a differentiated, innovative asset management business with high standards of customer service. I am keen to capitalise on the growth we have already seen across the region, working with the individual regional heads to boost our visibility post-rebrand and expand our client base.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved in Switzerland, Germany and Austria since establishing the office in 2015 and my commitment to our clients in these markets remains as strong as ever. With the expanded team in Zurich, Benjamin and I hope to further broaden our distribution network going forward.”

Warren Tonkinson adds:

“I am delighted that Dominik has accepted the position of head of EMEA distribution. He has a vast amount of experience and has skilfully managed our expansion in the DACH markets over the last few years, significantly increasing assets under management and diversifying our client base. I am confident that he, together with the wider team, will realise our ambitious growth plans for the region.”
