Investing through thick and thin is the best way to generate returns.
UK equities have been unloved by some investors yet there are good opportunities available from a broad range of companies operating in domestic and international markets. Fund manager Richard Watts strives to identify mid cap companies with the best growth potential and the greatest hidden value.
The fund offers investors a broad range of themes and investment opportunities across the spectrum of the UK economy from retailers to manufacturing exporters, from high-tech growth companies to established mainstream brands. Moreover, UK mid cap companies are more internationally exposed than is generally perceived, deriving earnings both from domestic and global markets.
The team leverages a dynamic and flexible process, including the continuous monitoring of the market, in order to capture inefficiencies and price anomalies across the broad spectrum of stocks in its investment universe.
The fund manager, Richard Watts, joined the company in 2002 and has specialised in UK mid caps, businesses he has a passion to understand and make available to clients. Richard works within one of the industry’s most successful and multi-award winning UK small and mid cap teams, led by Daniel Nickols.
It is the essence of the fund’s investment approach that it is flexible enough to have the potential to be successful across the entire cycle of economic conditions. For example, if the economy is in a recovery phase, the team will look for companies likely to respond quickly to new growth.
